YVETTE ANGELIQUE HYATER-ADAMS, MA-TLA, is a writer, consultant and Transformative Language Arts practitioner. As a Transformative Language Arts (TLA) practitioner, she is part of a community of professionals who use creative and expressive writing, narrative stories and other forms of communicative arts to heal, empower and transform the lives of individuals, groups and communities. She runs a private practice, Renaissance Muse, offering writing workshops, executive and personal effectiveness coaching teaching individuals how to shape their experiences into transformative stories.
This former bank-executive-recovered-artist is an accomplished organization development and diversity consultant. As President and CEO of Prime Directive Consulting Group, she regularly facilitates workshop intensives as well as advises CEOs and leadership teams on the value of incorporating diversity into their business strategies. Through change management interventions, Yvette works with CEOs to find ways to unleash the power of silenced voices within their organizations. Her change management work is recognized through various publications, professional journals and case studies, including the Harvard Business School. Yvette is a regular conference speaker on the topics of diversity, personal and organization transformation.
Yvette publishes poetry and writes essays for professional journals and websites. She also authors two monthly Life Coaching columns in local newspapers, All Around Pennsauken and Writers Blocks. Yvette is completing her first prose book on the uses of letter writing as a life coaching process.
Yvette is a graduate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a B.S. in Adult Education and Goddard College with a M.A. in Transformative Language Arts. She is affiliated with the National Association of Poetry Therapy (NAPT) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Yvette is a strong community advocate and dedicates her time furthering the mission of several boards and membership organizations. She provides her expertise, leadership and resources as HR Committee Chair, Board of Directors with The Urban League of Philadelphia; Chair, Leadership Committee with The Diversity Leadership Forum; Board President with Amherst Writers and Artists, and is a member of NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences. As an adjunct college professor, Yvette enjoys teaching aspiring undergraduate learners Public Speaking and Change Management coursework.
Yvette is married with two children, and is energized when finding creative ways to guide individuals, teams and communities in reclaiming their voices, transforming themselves, and achieving their goals.
